Monday April 20th Late Night Talk Show Recap

The Daily Show with John Stewart:

  • Details about torture and how politicians think it isn’t so bad.
  • Back in Black shows the ridiculousness of Nickelodeon’s special about being green. Wilmer Valderamma voices a cartoon character who talks about energy saving yet has tons of cars on MTV Cribs.
  • Guest talks about war and terrorism.


The Late Show with David Letterman:

Monologue bits:

  • Hugo Chavez gives Obama some women’s book.
  • Terrorist uses Neutrogena anti-aging cream because of water boarding.

Sketches:

  • Some old guy makes Letterman younger, like 17 Again. He’s now 62.
  • Late show weight loss challenge. Who cares about this, really?
  • Top 10 things overheard in the meeting between Barack Obama and Hugo Chavez.

Jeff Goldblum: The old lady on Grey Gardens has his same glasses. He was once made up like an asian guy, wow. Just hearing him talk and watching his expressions is always hilarious. In the end he shows off his expertise with rope knots.

Jeff Dunham: this guy is overrated


The Tonight Show with Jay Leno:

  • Miss California is the only one who’s sash didn’t cover her boobs, haha pretty good.
Headlines:
  • We specialize in bbq and pharmaceutical services
  • Half grilled chicken and herpes
  • Hockey player not pleased with slumping PP

Martha Stewart and Tracey Ulman: Jay does a craft with Martha, boring.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:

  • Obama expressions: too long and got stupid
  • Crazy nba playoff fan is actually a fan of the refs

Terrence Howard: He sings, yup that’s about it.

Rashida Jones: Talks about how NBC is already giving that awful show Parks and Recreation nicknames. She is so cute.

The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson:

  • Another lip synching bit to start off the show, these are awesome.
  • Michael Caine in Spain and Craig spins some colored tube with a character in the audience.

Simon Cowell talks about Susan Boyle and Erin McCarley performs.
