Monday December 21th Late Night Talk Show Recap

Letterman: 3d technology in Avatar is an old clip of a guy bouncing a ball at the screen. More fun than Palin memoir: getting beaten up by a guy in a Santa suit. Dave gives out gifts to some audience members and then throws snowballs at the camera. AvaTiger enters the body of 14 strange creatures. A stage hand wants to show Dave a story about Penelope Cruz. Top 10 things you don’t want to hear from your child presented by Stewie from Family Guy. Maggie Gyllenhaal talks about her kid and her new movie. Dave tries to throw snowballs into the holes of the band members’ trumpets. John Witherspoon.


Conan: Andy and La Bamba try to guess what Obama will say next and La Bamba says “sorry about that guys” since he forgot his mark, then that is what Obama says since something fell over. The pointing finger of Conan’s wax statue interacts with the staff backstage. A staff member has Christmas tips including buying egg nog then pouring it into a bowl and buying cigarettes as a last minute gift. A holiday themed Twitter Tracker. Christina Applegate talks about a trip and doing the voices for Alvin and the Chipmunks. Conan does a chipmunk voice in slow motion and wants it sped up, but when the control room can’t do it so quickly and Conan threatens to fire them, they cut off his signal. But then they do play it in slow motion. David Gregory talks about current events. Silversun Pickups performs.


Fallon: Jimmy tells us that Julian Casablancas made a cover version of the Christmas song Jimmy and his fellow SNL castmembers did on SNL. The next Christmas sweater is given out. Freestylin’ with The Roots had them playing Christmas songs. Martha Stewart talks about her book and then makes deserts with Jimmy. Jeffrey Ross talks about doing roasts and then insults some audience members. Horatio Sanz is with Jimmy to play and sing that Christmas song they did on SNL, which leads directly into Julian Casablancas performing it and Jimmy and Horatio join him in the end.
